I had a Northeastern student who constantly checked her TikTok feed while prepping for the SAT exam. If you want to ace any exam it is crucial to kick distractions.
My Northeastern student studied for the SAT in high school. She had not one, two, but three technological things going on at once. She was listening to her iTunes, she had a chat box open on her computer to talk to friends, and she was texting her friends on her iPhone.
We had to constantly stay on her and tell her “Look you’re not making improvement on your SAT prep because you have all these distractions going on.”
So, the first thing you have to do is to get focused and get into a productive working mindset: which means you have to find a quiet area of your house that’s not your kitchen to work in.
