When I was in high school, a family friend gave me some advice that turned me from a student who crammed for tests and procrastinated into an A student. So, this was his homework strategy.
“Alexis, study every day, a little bit every day. Simple as that.”
I’m like, why? He was like, well, look, if you’re given 300 pages and you have a week to do it, what’s better? The day before that class, read 300 pages not study any other day, or divide 300 by 7? And I did the math. And I’m like, I do not want to procrastinate, cram, and have all that responsibility on my shoulders.
I was that guy; I used to procrastinate and leave stuff for the night before. So, I was stressed, and I had test anxiety. I froze, and I performed poorly.
So, if you want to not perform poorly, you have to space out your homework. You have to be disciplined enough and also keep it on a calendar. Study every day, chip away at you’re studying every day.
