Alexis Avila Founder/CEO of Prepped and Polished is going to talk about how students taking the SAT with Extra time accommodation can use their time wisely on the SAT Critical Reading and Writing sections.

  • Make sure timing breaks are strategically placed throughout the test. So understanding those timing breaks is gonna be really important. Also make sure that the student isn’t partway through a section or partway through a question when a break is supposed to happen. We don’t want them to be put off-kilter because of that.
  • In terms of the extra time, we also wanna prioritize how we are reviewing and validating our answer choices.
  • In addition to the scheduled breaks, we also wanna talk about micro-breaks or mini-breaks within the section.
  • We want to build up that stamina and pacing throughout the entirety of the test. We want to find the right combination of pacing for each section of the test and how much time we should be spending on questions based on the difficulty and also the student’s ability.
