Alan Katzman is the founder and CEO of Social Assurity. He is an author and lawyer, with a JD from Albany Law School of Union University. Alan talks about how students can use social media to work for them, not against them.
Alan’s background is in the legal field. He was in-house counsel for many years for technology companies. In the last role, they were doing a lot of investigative work, and he noticed that their researchers were going directly to social media to assess the character integrity and credibility of the people they were looking into. So, he got curious about it and did his research. He realized that employers were also looking at social media for the same reasons for employees.
