Frequently quoted by US News & World Report, Alexis founded Prepped & Polished to help elementary, secondary, college-level, and adult students improve their grades and test scores. While tutoring for several small and large commercial test prep companies, Alexis envisioned growing his own independent educational services company run entirely by educators for the love of education. Alexis and other members of the Prepped & Polished team have traveled a collective hundred thousand miles to educate students in-person, collectively working with well over five hundred families.
Alexis is a certified school guidance counselor, grades Pre K-12, and holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (a US News ranked top-five Counseling Psychology program), as well as a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Alexis also spent his junior year living in Seville, Spain through the Cornell, Pennsylvania, University of Michigan Study Abroad program.
Alexis is a life-long teacher and student. He leads an SAT Math Strategies Workshop at Brookline High School several times per year, and in July 2011, Alexis completed a two day seminar in Executive Function disorder through the Landmark School Outreach Program. Described by students as supportive, patient and enthusiastic, Alexis has helped students and adults gain confidence, maximize their academic potential, and achieve dramatically improved grades and test scores.
Alexis is an active member of counseling organizations such as IECA, HECA, MASCA, NACAC, NEACAC; professional organizations such as the Wayland Business Association and Wellesley Chamber of Commerce; and also non-profit organizations such as Bridge over Troubled Waters and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. An active mentor of the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America since 2003, Alexis was nominated as one of the final five finalists for Big Brother of the Year.

Sandy has played a vital role in the evolution and on-going success of Prepped & Polished. She is responsible for the strategic planning, development and overall management of the Prepped & Polished Operations and Human Resources functions. Sandy earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Aquinas College and brings over ten years of Human Resources recruiting and management experience to Prepped & Polished. She is well-known for her interviewing expertise and effective coaching skills. Sandy’s rigorous screening process of potential Prepped & Polished educators includes a series of thorough background checks, as well as an intense interviewing process designed to secure only the highest level of educational talent available. Sandy also possesses a strong track record as an interview consultant. She has helped numerous high school seniors build the confidence and communication skills necessary to make the best impression during their college interviews, securing their admission into top-tier colleges and universities.
Sandy is an active member of the Wellesley Women’s Business Network, Society for Human Resource Management, and The Northeast Human Resource Association. She grew up in Watertown, MA and now resides in Wayland, MA with her husband Alexis and Yorkshire Terrier Phoebe.
